So I once knew this little kid, that when we moved into our home, came running with a plate full of home made cookies, & welcoming us to our new home.
Years go by & as a little kid, during summer break, he would come over & we'd sit on the back porch & play games.
Kids grow up & this young man soon had lots of things keeping him busy... but he was always there with a smile & a wave for his neighbors.
This young man is now engaged ... & I still see him as that little kid with a plate full of cookies... but what a sweet young man he's turned out to be.
& since I have a protectiveness over little kids I know, I was anxious to meet his finance. Well, I shouldnt have any doubt that she's the most precious thing. A perfect fit.
Ethan is also venturing into the world of photography, so I was honored that he asked me to do their Engagement pictures.
They scheduled months back, but knew they wanted October to have some pretty colors... & we knew one of the spots would have to be right here... right where he surprised Elaine with a proposal.
He was really playing & she was really singing... I loved being there witnessing their connection.
Ethan & Elain are one of those couples that I cant wait to see what they do with their life... where they end up in their careers (she's a teacher, with that sweet patience... he is going into Musical Therapy!)... where they end up living (I know their parents are waiting anxiously on that one too) ... & how God is going to use them (God is DEFINITELY going to use them!)
I know whatever they do - wherever they go, they are just going to keep the smiles coming....
By the way, can I say, I love when ladies wear yellow... it just makes ME want to smile like this too
Their choice of word?
...not like COMPLIMENT...
saying telling someone how aweseome they are
But being COMPLETED
See? Told you Elaine was a school teacher.... she knew how to pick an awesome word that is perfect for marriage.
Just glad she was there to spell it for me.
So you'll see more pictures of this couple in 2013.... I get to be with them on their wedding day.
(For the record, I'll admit it here & now - I'll cry... & maybe for my wedding present to them, I'll bring some home made cookies) :)
